The Language of Dehumanization: How Journalists Aid In The ‘Othering’ Of Their Subjects

This research paper was submitted during my Diploma of Journalism degree, for COMM1085: College Reading and Writing Skills. 

I wrote this paper primarily as a reminder to myself that as a journalist, my words are important. At the end of the day, no matter how hard I try to remain neutral and unbiased, my words are ultimately what shapes the narrative and public opinion. It is my duty and responsibility to ensure that the stories I tell are told truthfully and honestly.
